Better Human Project – Giving.

This post is in the Health category.

It has been about a week since the post about the start of the Better Human Project.

How’s it going for you?

Smooth? Too easy? maybe you are thinking your ambition is bigger then your work ethic? or maybe you need a little direction.

Here is how I can help.

But first. I want you to keep in mind the following. The rising tide lifts all boats.

Yes. Another metaphor. You are going to come across lots of them on these pages. I find that it gets the point across in an easy to comprehend fashion.

But how does this tie in to the Better Human Project?

Simple. I personally believe that to build a strong community, it becomes important to help those around you achieve their goals. No need to judge each other. But to lend a helping hand to those looking to achieve a better version of themselves. When done willingly and with zero expectation of a payback, you undoubtedly will have a little extra drive to reach your own goals, getting you to elevate yourself to a higher vibration or level of success and ability.

This matters a lot as this summer – and part of the Better Human Project – I challenge you to give back to the community around you. Be the first to pay it forward when you get your morning coffee, help a neighbor with a chore, hold a door open. Get involved with a charity. Spend time with a loved one to show them a new recipe or how to do something better. Do anything to help those around you. Pick one day a week. One day a month or one activity a day. The frequency is not as important to me as the quality of your interaction.

For myself, I aim to partake in what I am going to call Give Back Fridays. Over the summer, I am going to see how I can provide time, if not resource to a cause that is helping do good in the community around me.

Recently I was able to attend the launch of a new project for Habitat for Humanity.

This particular project will feature the tear down and rebuild of a home that will be the new residence for 4 men with special needs. While I have no familiarity to the men who will be living here, I do have some (limited you might say) ability with swinging a hammer and a very comfortable demeanor with lifting heavy things off the floor.

I’m choosing this particular charity for no specific reason other then I had a seemingly random conversation about it one day and I decided to act on it. You will see that I am not one to believe in coincidence.

At present, I feel fortunate to be where I am professionally and to have had the experiences I have had. While I may not be donating financially to this particular project, I do intend to donate my most valuable commodity. My time.
